India has set ambitious climate targets, aiming to cut CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030 compared to 2005 levels, with the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2070. The government is also focused on securing an independent, sustainable energy supply while safeguarding public health. To meet these objectives, the plan involves replacing diesel and gasoline generators with fuel cells across key sectors such as transportation, the military, and critical infrastructure including railways, oil & gas and telecommunications.
